Founders usually ask one thing before anything else: what will it cost to register a company in Turkey? The Turkey company registration costs calculator above answers it in under a minute. Pick your company type, enter your share capital and choose Istanbul, Antalya or İzmir, and it lists the registry, notary and translation costs line by line.

The rest of this page explains what each line is, why the totals differ between provinces and what the calculator leaves out. For the registration process itself, see our company registration in Turkey for foreigners service page.

Quick answerFor a limited şirket with the 50,000 TL minimum capital, official and third-party costs come to roughly 27,000 TL in Istanbul, 32,700 TL in İzmir and 36,500 TL in Antalya at 2026 rates, before our legal service fee. Notary and translation are averages. The legal service fee is quoted separately.

What Does Company Registration in Turkey Cost?

The total is the sum of four things: trade registry and chamber charges, a notary bill, sworn translation and the legal service fee. The first is set by the state and the chamber of commerce for your province. The notary and translation lines depend on how many pages your file runs to. The legal service fee depends on how complicated the company is.

Only two inputs move the registry side of the calculation: the share capital you declare and the province where the company will be registered.

Cost Breakdown: What You Pay For

Trade Registry Costs

This group holds the fees charged at the registry directorate and the chamber of commerce: approval of the articles of association, certification of the statutory books (ledgers), the Competition Authority share and, in some provinces, chamber registration and a capital-based registry charge. The Competition Authority share is 0.04% of your declared capital in all three provinces, which is only 20 TL on a 50,000 TL capital. In Antalya, the registry charge is 0.1% of capital, with a floor of 6,000 TL and a cap of 16,515 TL.

Trade Registry Gazette Announcement Fee

Every new company is announced in the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette. The fee is 2.48 TL per word of the articles of association, so a longer text costs more. The calculator shows 6,000 TL, which is about what an average-length articles of association comes to.

Notary Fees

Signatures and certified documents go through a notary. The calculator uses an average of 10,000 TL. The actual bill grows with the number of documents and pages, so it is higher for companies with several shareholders or a power of attorney chain.

Sworn Translation Costs

Documents issued abroad must be rendered into Turkish by a sworn translator. The calculator uses an average of 6,000 TL. A company with a single foreign shareholder will usually sit near that figure, and more shareholders mean more pages.

Legal Service Fee

We do not show a number for this line because it depends on the company: how many shareholders there are, which sector it operates in and how its articles must be written. We give a fixed fee before work starts, and tell you which official costs sit on top of it.

Costs by Province: Istanbul, Antalya and İzmir

Each registry and chamber publishes its own schedule and itemises its charges differently, so the lines are not comparable one to one. What matters is the total. The table uses a limited şirket with 50,000 TL capital and the calculator’s average notary and translation figures.

Where the company is registered follows its registered address, so the province is rarely a free choice. If Antalya is your location, our Antalya company formation guide covers the local steps.

Limited Şirket vs Anonim Şirket: How Costs Differ

The company type changes two things in the calculator. The first is the minimum capital: 50,000 TL for a limited şirket and 250,000 TL for an anonim şirket. The second is cash flow at incorporation. A limited şirket pays nothing in before registration, while an anonim şirket must pay in 25% of its capital, which sits blocked in the company’s bank account. On 250,000 TL that is 62,500 TL.

This blocked amount is not a fee. It is your own capital, and the calculator shows it separately and leaves it out of the total. Because the Competition Authority share (and, in Antalya, the registry charge) scales with capital, a larger capital also raises the registry costs slightly.

A foreign company that does not want a separate legal entity can look at a branch office instead, and exporters may want to compare the free zone route. Both have different cost structures from the one shown here.

What the Calculator Does Not Include

The calculator covers the cost of registering the company. It does not cover what follows:

  • Accounting and bookkeeping fees after incorporation
  • The registered office, such as a lease or virtual office
  • Sector licences and permits (tourism, food, construction, health and others)
  • Taxes and social security once the company trades
  • Our legal fee, which is quoted per company

How to Keep Registration Costs Under Control

  • Match the activity code to what you will sell. A wrong code means amending the registry entry later and paying again.
  • Choose the right entity first. Registering one type and converting to the other later means paying twice.
  • Keep the articles of association focused. The Gazette fee is charged per word, so a bloated text costs more.
  • Cover several activities in one company. One company with a well-drafted purpose clause is cheaper than three registrations.
  • Lodge a complete file once. A file sent back by the registry costs time, and sometimes a second round of notary and translation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to register a company in Turkey?

For a limited şirket with 50,000 TL capital, official and third-party costs run from about 27,000 TL to 36,500 TL depending on the province, before the legal fee. Use the calculator for your own capital and province.

What is the minimum capital to set up a company in Turkey?

50,000 TL for a limited şirket and 250,000 TL for an anonim şirket, since 1 January 2024.

Do I have to pay the share capital before registration?

For a limited şirket, no. The law allows 24 months to pay it in. For an anonim şirket, 25% of the capital must be paid before registration.

Is the 25% blocked capital a fee?

No. It is part of your own capital, held in the company’s bank account. The calculator shows it separately and does not add it to your costs.

Why do registration costs differ between Istanbul, Antalya and İzmir?

Each province’s trade registry and chamber of commerce publish their own fee schedule, and they itemise charges differently. The final total is what to compare.

Can I register a company in Turkey cheaper without a lawyer?

The state fees are the same either way. A lawyer’s fee pays for the articles of association, the order of the steps and a file that is lodged once. Mistakes in these areas are what usually make a registration cost more.

Are these figures updated every year?

Registry and notary tariffs are revised each January. The calculator reflects 2026 rates, and we pass on the rate in force on the day your file is lodged.
